The inaugural IPHatchDay, an open innovation competition that aims to leverage on Intellectual Property (IP) and Technologies to develop scalable business idea, launched at TechInnovation 2017 on 20 September 2017.


IPHatchDay is organised by Piece Future and supported by the Intellectual Property Intermediary (IPI), a non-profit organisation established under Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry.


More than 330 individuals have registered for the IPHatchDay launch, including individuals and representatives from Small and Medium Enterprises, multinational corporations, legal firms and industry organisations. Attendees experienced first-hand how IP and Technologies can be commercialised by getting a glimpse of the 10 innovative business concepts and supporting IP and Technology Portfolio on offer at IPHatchDay.

Following the strong response for IPHatchDay at the launch event, the workshop briefing sessions were held to a full house at Upwork co-working space.


At the session, Piece Future and its partners shared more information about the business concepts, IP/ Technology Portfolios with interested participants. Attendees also got a chance to understand first-hand from the organisers on how to formulate their business proposals to stand out from the crowd.


First round of submissions for IPHatchDay will close on 19 November 2017,2359. Winners of the IPHatchDay will walk away with up to USD 500k in funding, access to IP / Technology Portfolios, Incubation Opportunities as well as preferential rates for business support services.
